A Must-See Summer Event

Award-Winning Documentary Out There: A National Parks Story Comes to the Cascade Theatre

Whiskeytown Environmental School Community invites you to a summer evening of cinematic adventure and inspiration with a special screening of Out There: A National Parks Story on Saturday, July 12, 2025, from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the historic Cascade Theatre in downtown Redding at 1731 Market Street.

This powerful documentary follows a young filmmaker and his childhood friend on a 10,000-mile journey through America’s national parks. What starts as a road trip becomes a moving exploration of conservation, connection, and the human spirit. Along the way, they meet rangers, artists, scientists, and everyday visitors whose lives have been shaped by these treasured landscapes. Through breathtaking cinematography and unforgettable stories, Out There captures the heart and soul of the parks—and the people who protect them.

Praised for its stunning visuals and emotional depth, the film has won multiple awards including Best Documentary at the Denali Film Festival and the Audience Award at the Florida Film Festival. It’s been described as “a film that will have even the most city-bound of viewers ready to pack a camper.”

Tickets are now available at CascadeTheatre.org and at the Cascade Theatre box office. Adult tickets are $15. Youth (under 21) tickets are $10. Ticket prices include processing fees.

Doors open at 6:00, raffle tickets on sale. Show 7:00 to 9:00.
