PG&E Settlement Allocates $1 Million to WES Community for Zogg Fire

Whiskeytown Environmental School (WES) Community grieves with the families who lost loved ones and the neighbors who lost homes and property in the Zogg Fire.

The $1M granted to us on May 31st from the PG&E Zogg Fire settlement will support the “Grow Back Stronger” campaign to rebuild student housing at the Whiskeytown Environmental School.

This timely allocation will help return children to Shasta County’s beloved residential outdoor science school at Whiskeytown National Recreation Area, enabling future generations to discover their rich natural heritage and join the legacy of learning and stewardship that defines WES.

Nothing can undo the heartache caused by the Zogg Fire. But we are thankful that something positive is emerging from the tragedy.
